Truth and Revelation

Matt. 5:16 [KJV]

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven".

Let us examine this scripture;

Let your light...
What is your light? The light of the body is the eye. Matt. 6:22-24. These scriptures tell us, "...if therefore the eye is single, the whole body is full of light". The Word continues to teach; we cannot be double-minded. "No man can serve two masters." Either you love good or you love evil.
So watch what your "eye" and your mind continues to focus on .
"You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world." Matt. 5:13,14

God didn't say, "this little light of mine", that was the songwriter's need for a rhyme. God says, "let your light...

so shine before men...
Be strong; unwavering
Be obvious; undeniable
Be assured; confident
Be pure; full of joy
Be a beacon; a lighthouse of hope
Be compelling; a magnet for truth
Be Godly; radiant and alive with peace

Why?

that they may see...
they are the lost; the unbelievers
they are the worshippers of the kingdom of darkness
they are the hopeless and the helpless

See what?

your good works...
your words of encouragement
your spirit of generosity; caring for the less fortunate
your love of truth and the proclaiming of it
your random acts of kindness and selfless deeds

To do what?

and glorify your Father which is in Heaven...
Given the magnitude of your Light and the presence of your good works, it is well understood you are a Believer! A child of the Most High God, our Heavenly Father - the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You bear witness to His glory and THEY desire to see Him, to hear Him, to know Him and to praise your Heavenly Father.
