One Saturday evening I was heading out to a dinner gathering with friends right here in my neighborhood. I distinctly remember murmuring and grumbling to myself about things I had to do for Sunday and even into the next week. Things that "I'm tired of doing", and then off I went - out the door to go party!
Sunday morning arrives and the Holy Spirit arrested me with this thought - "when I feel weak or disinterested, tired or bored, I have a brand new opportunity to summon strength. First, check my connection to my Infinite Source [Father God], and if I am still connected, then use that strength to "RENEW MY MIND".
The scripture reads, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2 NIV
Whenever my mind says something negative, I have the authority to immediately change that thought into something positive. How easy is that? Easier than you think if you can only believe IT. This confirmed something I spontaneously said to a few folks back on January 1st - instead of Happy New Year, it came out Happy New You!
RENEW YOUR MIND is now my new mantra for 2010, and beyond. I know that it will be a blessing if I employ it to work for me every time. It's the empowering thought I offer to you today. Happy New YOU!
